Hi. The blog linked to your username uses Twenty Ten. Is that the blog you are talking about? Otherwise, in order to assist you, we need the URL of your blog, starting with http:// please. Thanks.

That would require the Custom Design Upgrade and modification of the CSS. Do you have the Custom Design Upgrade?

When I registered with Word Press.com, I was given a blot which I do not want or will I maintain. My site is a temp site until I get it up and running and can move the existing domain name site. The url is http://temp.napagop,org. I want to put the logo (an elephant) next to the name to go with the slogan. Thank you for your response and the temp site is using twenty eleven.

Drats, my fingers wrote blot instead of blog. Is that a Freudian slip?

Sorry, I don’t believe that I have the Custom Design Upgrade. I am going to host the site at SelfServeHosting and the hosting package came with WordPress already installed.

http://temp.napagop.org is a self-hosted WordPress blog, which means you don’t need the Custom Design upgrade… and which also means that you are in the wrong forum. In the future, please use http://wordpress.org/support

I guess I must be under a misconception. I thought the program that I am using (or at least attempting to use) is Word Press. So, are you saying that the functionality of the software is predicated on the type of URL designation you have? Also, it is not my intent to have this website as a blog, but as a CMS type website with comment capability on the RSS feeds that I want to have on the site. So. that being said, does that still mean I should not search for answers in WordPress.com forums?

Pardon the stock boiler plate but the below should help you a bit.

    You have a WordPress.ORG install

The site you are asking about does not seem to be hosted on WordPress.COM so you need to make friends over at WordPress.ORG the keepers of the software you are using.

    https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/7-things-to-know-before-posting-in-wordpresscom-forums?replies=1

This site is for support of sites hosted on WordPress.COM. You should address your questions to WordPress.ORG the keepers of the software you are using: http://wordpress.org/support/

For more on the difference: http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

It does not matter what the extension is for your domain name (.COM, .ORG, .NET, .EDU etc.) The WordPress software is independent of the domain name.

    Auxclass –

Thank you for your response and for the link to the explanation of the difference between WordPress.com and org.
I will go to the .org support from now on.
