Logo sizing in Sela theme

    Hi!

I’m trying to fit a large picture on my blog’s header, and I read somewhere that with Sela, it’s better to use the logo option than header for that. The thread I was reading (can’t find it anymore, sorry) said the logo image can be any size.

When I set my image as the logo of my site in the customizer, it shows almost full-width, just as I want it to be. However, when I hit “save & activate”, it reduces to a small logo picture. Is there a way to fix this? Or can I somehow make the header space bigger and set my image as a header?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Forgot to say: my current logo image works fine, so apparently it is possible to have a logo that wide.

Hi, I’m seeing a full width logo on your site right now. Is what you have right now what you were wanting?

Hi! Nope, that is the older one that’s working fine. I’m trying to upload a new one, and it won’t seem to work the same way.

If you have the file uploaded to your media library, can you give me a link to it and I would be happy to see if I can figure out what is going on? If you haven’t uploaded it, can you do that and give me a link?

    Here’s the file: https://wisteriawalk.files.wordpress.com/2015/06/wisteria_header_3.jpg

Could it be that the picture is too big for the header area?

Could it be that the picture is too big for the header area?

That could well be the issue. I would suggest making it closer to the size of the header area. The size of the one there now is 984px wide by 216px high.

Is there a way to make the header space bigger? I’m using Sela in another blog, and I once managed to upload a bigger header image there: kaikkikay.wordpress.com. (I know it’s not very pretty right now, but at least it worked.) Can’t remember what I did, though. I’m a bit clueless with these things, sorry!

It looks like you just uploaded a taller site logo on kaikkikay.wordpress.com.

Sela displays a maximum logo image size of 1180 by 380, while retaining the image’s proportions. Your Wisteria header is closer to a square in its proportions than a rectangle. You may want to try recreating the graphic in more of a landscape rectangle orientation.
