Looking for a full page tiled gallery portfolio theme

Hello,
I posted a request for a full page tiled gallery theme back in January. So far I don’t see anything similar to what I want.
I use your grid style photo tiled galleries on all my photography pages

but the page width is very narrow with small thumbnails and the photos don’t post well size wise. You never know what is going to appear small or large in the page layout.There are many website companies designing for photographers that offer full page photo grid style albums. One company is Aphotofolio.com

Their themes don’t have names but this example on their website is what I want: https://kcarmstrong.netI have been waiting for years for you to come up with a template like this so finally I am “officially” proposing it to you. I’ve made many comments in the past.
What I like about this site:
1-Full page grid style photo galleries…both horizontal and vertical photos are large and easy to see. Sizes are consistent, not random and there’s no space between photos. When you mouse over a photo on the home page it shows the title of that gallery.
2-When you click on any photo on the Overview (home) page it opens up into another full page grid style gallery. Entertainment on the home page opens up the Entertainment gallery. Again the sizes are big and look good together. They are consistent, not random as your tiles galleries are.
3-When you click on any photo in the gallery it opens up a large size slideshow
4-Captions can be turned on and off
5-There are fullscreen and thumbnail options
6-The photographer’s contact and social media info are always available
7-One page features videoI think if you take a look at the site it’s pretty easy to see what I like about it. WordPress doesn’t offer any theme like this (at least none that I know of.) It’s different from anything you have, simple and very attractive so I hope you will add a theme like this as soon as possible. Thanks!

May I add that when requests are made if and when Staff do accommodate them they contact those who made the request by using the email address provided here https://wordpress.com/me? Apparently, no addition of such a theme has been made yet.

@timethief yes I saw the response back in January.
From the previous comments on that post I am not sure they knew what I was asking for but hopefully someone on staff was able to (or WILL BE able to) check out the theme and see what it is.
You are correct, there does not seem to be any similar theme available. I’m still wishing something similar will be added.

Howdy @cathyscholl, our designers have been busy with some other projects, but I can see your suggestion is still there with them!
We do have another option that wasn’t available in January, though: WordPress.com Business now lets you upload third party themes while still getting WordPress.com’s site management and support. So if you can find any WordPress theme that does just what you want, you could upload it if you had the business plan. I hope that helps.

https://www.photofolio.io/examplesIf they could do just ONE thing that would make a huge difference to me it would be to update the tiled gallery layout so that it was possible to have full page tiled galleries with horizontal and vertical images that are relatively the same size…not one huge image and a bunch of tiny ones.
Well that’s actually two things…
1-full page tiled gallery and
2-change the tile size/layout :)That’s really all I need.
Please pass these two requests along to them so they don’t just blow off my whole idea (the site I linked to) because it’s not possible. Thanks! -
So right now, the gallery feature will basically fill up whatever content area a theme gives it.
Most themes will not display edge to edge content areas because you’d end up with really long lines of text that are difficult to read :(
I could see a theme offering this feature though. Again though, would you want each image to link to an individual post or just display as a static image?

I REALLY like the Homepage of that website (here’s the link again)
https://kcarmstrong.netwhich is Pinterest style (continuous scrolling) with large vertical and horizontal images that are all pretty much equal in size. It’s a tiled gallery but with all large tiles so every image can be seen, unlike my current tiled galleries which have some huge images and some tiny.
I like that each photo on the homepage represents (or is like a title page for) a gallery and when you click on it (Entertainment for example) it opens a new page which is the Entertainment gallery, again Pinterest style with large images and then when you click on the images in that gallery you can view them individually, get info, thumbnails, etc.
I’m no engineer but it doesn’t seem that different to me than some themes you have now with large images on the home page, each image when you click on it opens up to a blog post…so instead of a blog post it would be a gallery…but as wide as possible on the page.
Plan B: If that’s not possible and I stay with one image on my home page and headers which direct people to galleries…it would be great to at least have a fourth (?) WP gallery option with larger more equally sized tiles that can be as wide on the page as possible.

Thanks, I’ve added that feedback to the request: masonry layout, infinite scrolling, edge to edge, images are carefully proportioned.
It is possible to design and program a theme like that. Our designers and programmers have been working on other projects, but your idea is in the list.
If you want to do something else in the meantime, one theme that works a bit like that (though it isn’t 100% width and there are gaps between images) is https://orvisdemo.wordpress.com/
You can also search for “masonry portfolio theme WordPress” and find several existing options that would work on our Business plan, or on your own WordPress.org installation.

Thanks for your interest and suggestions. I will check out your link. Here’s another example of a tiled gallery, full page with large horizontal and vertical images that are consistently sized…
I personally don’t like the white space/gaps between the images.

@supernovia I did just check out Orvis and the general Portfolio project information. I still don’t like how the vertical images are 2.5 times the size of the horizontal images.
Until horizontal and vertical images are able to display at a better ratio to each other there’s really no advantage to me changing anything.
Bottom line, the main thing I am looking for is a tiled gallery with large, evenly sized images, whether it’s part of a new portfolio theme or even better, something that can be incorporated into ANY theme. Thanks.

@cathyscholl for what it’s worth, I believe that’s more to do with the aspect ratios of the images they’re using on that site vs the orvis demo. The images in the demo are 2:3 vs 3:4 on the site you mentioned here. If you stick with a 3:4 (or 4:3) aspect ratio, you’ll get result closer to what you see on zackarias.com.
