looking for a gallery-like plugin

    I have searched far and wide but can’t find a plugin I need.

    What I need is a plugin that creates a thumbnail gallery using images from individual posts. However, when visitor clicks on any of the thumbnails instead of opening the full size image, I need to link to the post from which the image came.

    All gallery type plugins I can find lack this ability to link to the post instead of the full size image. Thank you for suggestions!

    Hi there. We cannot install plugins on WordPress.com (http://en.support.wordpress.com/plugins/), besides which any WordPress.com can already create galleries, as explained here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/gallery/

    On the other hand, if, as I suspect in absence of a URL, you actually have a self-hosted WordPress.org site, then you need to post in the WordPress.org forums as this forum only provides support for free WordPress.com blogs. WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate and different: http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

    You can find the WordPress.org forum here: http://wordpress.org/support/ If you don’t already have a username on that forum, click the register button in the upper right corner so you can post in that forum.
