looking for a supported theme

    I got to this forum by clicking support while viewing the baskerville 2 theme. I assume this is the forum for that theme. If not, I guess my question still fits.

    I have a self hosted wordpress site that was recently hacked. It has an old unsupported theme – seems the developer created new versions of the them and moved on. As I understand, I need to find a theme that is supported for security updates. The baskerville 2 theme by Anders Norén seems quite good. I’m also not opposed to paid themes as well. This one seems to fit the bill so far.

    If this is the forum for baskerville 2, can you let me know the plans for future security updates? Otherwise can you suggest themes or an author/company that is known for supporting their themes well?

    This is the forum for free sites hosted on WordPress.com. I assume you’ve seen the download link for the .org version of Baskerville 2 at the bottom of this link: https://wordpress.com/theme/baskerville-2
    All the themes at WordPress.com are equally secure but with a self-hosted site using the WordPress.org software outdated themes and plugins are ways a site can be compromised. At WordPress.com themes are often retired whilst the .org versions continue to be available for years. I prefer to leave the security aspects to the Happiness engineers here rather than being fully responsible for updating my site. The only way a site at WordPress.com could get hacked would be if you shared your login details. https://en.support.wordpress.com/security/
