Even if you are selling products you make yourself, WordPress.com is not optimized for ecommerce
If the products are not yours, made by others, you can not sell anything on here.

And if your goal is to monetize your site, then you need to find a host, buy a domain name and use some sort of software to make your site work. WordPress.org (free) software, with a host and domain name would likely satisfy those motives.
