Looking for a Theme that supports secured content and a forum

    I need them that I can use to charge people to have access to my content. I’d also like to include a Forum/Message Board behind this access level. So the 4 things I need in my theme are:

    * Forum
    * Ability to charge for content/blogs/forum
    * Ability to classify some content as “free”
    * Customized layout design options

    Does a template like this exist? Or am I going to have to go out of house?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    There are no such themes for free hosted WordPress.com blogs. You cannot build or use your own custom theme built from scratch at WordPress.com. The only themes we can use are those found here > Appearance > Themes This is a multiuser blogging platform. All blogs wearing the same theme are using the same underlying template and we cannot access the underlying files and edit templates or themes. http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/editing-themes/ The CSS upgrade provides the ability to change appearance but not functionality.

    We cannot embed forums into free hosted WordPress.com blogs. We can only register a forum on the internet and then link to it from our blogs.

    I’m afraid e-commerce isn’t possible here at WordPress.com, and there are no plans to develop anything for that at this time. If you require e-commerce/shopping cart functionality, there are no restrictions on e-commerce if you setup a self-hosted WordPress.org blog instead of a free hosted WordPress.com blog. Actually, this isn’t true. We’ve always allowed people to exhibit and promote their own goods and love to see it happening.

    (Also, generally, I’d be careful about saying there are plans for this or that. We’re pretty hush hush about our plans. :) )

    Well, but exhibiting and promoting goods is not at all the same as running a shopping cart and accepting payments for content, which is the subject of this request, so I’d say @timethief isn’t wrong in this response.

    That said, the plans for wordpress.com service offerings are always evolving, so categorical statements about what we will or won’t be offering are probably better reworded as just “at this time.”

    @themeshaper & @jane
    I have now edited my copy and paste which I copied and pasted directly from an answer provided by a Staff member in the Staff questions Forum. Does this now suit?

    I’m afraid e-commerce isn’t currently possible here at WordPress.com as our free hosted blogs cannot be equipped for ecommerce transactions at this time. If you require e-commerce/shopping cart functionality, there are no restrictions on e-commerce if you setup a self-hosted WordPress.org blog instead of a free hosted WordPress.com blog.
