Looking for a theme with a header image connecting to the sidebar image

I’m redesigning a website for a guy who has a specific layout in mind, where the image in the header connects with the sidebar. Quick mockup of the idea: http://i.imgur.com/9joCvqQ.jpg
Maybe I’m just using the wrong key words when searching, but I can’t seem to find what I’m (or: he’s) looking for. Any ideas?

I like that idea. Can’t recommend a specific theme, but it think it might be possible with a little CSS customization. Essentially that would be a single, non-repeating (I presume) background image a portion of which displays in the header area and in the right sidebar, the rest being obscured by posts or pages.
