Looking for a Widget that…
-
I posted this yesterday and it got removed without notice or reason. So I don’t know what I did/said to cause that.
I’m in China and do not have access to social network sites like twitter or facebook, so what I’m looking for I guess needs to be done via email.
I’m looking for a widget that:
Periodically reads a dedicated emai account and posts the messages it finds to a scrolling sidebar widget with the date/time of the email, subject and body (just a few lines). Newest to oldest. While retaining a user set max number of entries.
Again, I know there are widgets that do this with twitter and the like, but I can’t get to them, or this web site, without a VPN, which makes it a pain. So email (or WeChat) look like my only options.
I hope that if this post gets pulled again this time, someone would be kind enough to let me know why…
Thank you.

This appears to be the first time you have posted to the peer support forums https://en.forums.wordpress.com/profile/dahai8

P.S. It will be helpful for Staff if you provide the URL for the .wordpress.com blog in question in the form of an active link starting with http://

Thank you for your reply.
I’m pretty sure I saw my post in ‘Widgets’ right below the sticky post for that forum. I think it was also marked as ‘Admin’ and closed, which I just figured it was being held for review before being released for comments. Today it was gone from Widgets.
I’ll subscribe to that thread. My blog is using the wordpress php application under my own domain – basically because wordpress.com is block in China.
Thanks again for your quick response.

There is no Widgets forum here; you must be referring to a WordPress.org blog and a post on the WordPress.org forums. You need to head back there for help with that.

Raincoaster: top of this page it says : WordPress.com Forums >> Widgets
And I thought wordpress.com and wordpress.org were the same company. But I’ll head over to wordpress.org and post my message in their Widgets form, perhaps its less confusing there.
Thank you.
P.S. Please no one else respond to this thread, I won’t be checking it any more.

Interesting: i stand corrected.
Nonetheless, this does appear to be your first post here: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/profile/dahai8
Hang tight and staff will respond.

Hi there!
I wasn’t able to find a plugin that scrolls through your emails, although I can see you’ve made a similar query at the WordPress.org forums and hopefully they’ll be able to help you out. Good luck!
