Looking For Advice

    Hello to one and all.

I want to know if WordPress.com supports the playback of videos with transparency and if so what would be the most ideal video format and specific codec to use for this scenario on WordPress.com?

I have been doing some experiments to see what works and what doesn’t and the tests were mostly unsuccessful because there are a ton of formats to go through, and the file sizes (apart from mp4 and a few other typical ones) are very huge and even take a while to encode depending and upload to sites, so I am stuck.

The reason why I want to use video format for this particular idea I have is because formats like GIFs, WebP etc support images and scenes with transparency but do not support audio, and placing the audio under the image does not go in sync with animated images since animated images do not load consistently and fast like the audio player, so it’s very hard to get sound featured in a separate audio player to play in sync with animated images on the Web.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

UPDATE: In short, I found out that you can retain the transparency in videos on WordPress if they are in (or converted to) the WEBM format that uses the VP9 Codec.

But if anyone has any more tips and recommendations to share on this particular matter, I would still love to hear and learn more.
