Looking for advice on a book list/dropdown plugin

    I sell 180 ebooks from my website and currently use a very unwieldy contact form with all 180 books listed for people to choose X number they want for multiple purchases.

    I would like a plugin that can allow the user to go to a book CATEGORY and have the choices drop down rather than everything being displayed at once in overwhelming and ugly fashion.

    Also if possible, it would be nice to get an email back from the site like the current contact form but only with the selected choices, not everything with ‘YES’ next to a few.

    Any thoughts?

    Hi there,

    It sounds like an ecommerce plugin, like WooCommerce, would be the best option for you. With WooCommerce, you can list each of your books as a separate product. You could then list them by category, and customers could also search for them using the built-in search feature.

    Customers would be able to select the books they want to buy by adding them to the shopping cart and checking out, just like with any online store, and will then be able to directly download their purchase, i.e. you wouldn’t need to send them the ebook files manually afterwards. You’ll also be able to support multiple payment options, depending on the payment processor and payment gateway plugin you decide to use.

    To use any plugin on WordPress.com requires the Pro plan, but that includes full support for WooCommerce. There are also paid add-ons for WooCommerce which you can buy to add extra features (the cost of those aren’t included in the plan), but just selling digital products like ebooks is supported in WooCommerce itself, so you might not need any add-ons, and the only additional cost would be transaction fees to your payment processor.
