Looking for help with VPS Host and WordPress.org

    I need help, I can’t seem to find a way to contact wordpress support and I am extremely lost with this issue. I am taking over the account of this site and I have a question regarding the hosting. Apparently the site had been using a VPS to host the website and it was extremely slow, I am looking to see how I can view in the wordpress settings how the VPS was linked to it. I am looking to change the VPS so that it the website is hosted by WordPress (if this is a possibility) and to be able to change the domain management to be by GoDaddy. I am new to this entire business of domains and would even consider hire a developer if I cannot find the help I need. Could someone point me to some resources regarding how a website is hosted?

    Hi @caffeinequeen12,

    I can see you have the domain (site address) registered by Godaddy, and your site “http://www.oleoscuba.com/” is hosted at HostPapa using the open-source version of the WordPress software from WordPress.org.

    WordPress.org and WordPress.com are different products. You can find the differences on this link:

    First, you have to create a site on WordPress.com (if you don’t have one)

    Furthermore, if you are looking to get started on using WordPress.com, you can refer to this guide:

    After you have created a site, you have to move the contents of “http://www.oleoscuba.com/” to your new WordPress.com site. Please refer to this guide for that:

    If you want to move the plugins and custom themes that you’re using on your current website, you have to upgrade to a Business or eCommerce paid plan offered by WordPress.com

    After you move the contents from HostPapa to WordPress.com,
    You have to map your current domain “http://www.oleoscuba.com/” to your WordPress.com site.

    This sounds like an awful lot of work, is there someone I could hire to do this for me? Do you have any resources like an experts page that could help me with this?
