Looking for more specific advice on disappearing pictures

    Hi.

    I renewed my custom domain for my blog. After that, the blog was missing its custom header, which I reinserted.

    I am missing pictures that were there at one time. As far as I know, they were in the media library.

    It seems like pictures come and go for no apparent reason. Makes me wonder if I’m getting unwelcome visitors. I’ve changed my password and an looking into two-step authentication.

    And, if what I post below is not helpful, please provide the posts the images are embedded in and for the images themselves in the form of an active link starting with http://

    1. Have you used all your free media storage space? Check here please
    planetlippstone.com/wp-admin/upload.php

    2. Where are the missing images hosted?

    (a) Are they hosted on an image hosting service like Flickr or photobucket? Are they hosted at Facebook or somewhere else online?

    (b) Are they hosted on WordPress.COM servers ie. did you upload them into your Media Library?

    (c) Did you delete them from the Media Library? If you do that then they cannot be displayed and you have to upload them again. Images that have been deleted from your Media Library become 404 page not found. That is because they are no longer on the servers so they cannot be displayed in your posts.

    I thought I had enough space, but better do some cleaning. Will go back to work.

    Hi again,
    Do be careful because if you remove any images from your Media Library then they will not display in any posts or pages you embedded them into. You can purchase a space upgrade. See here http://en.support.wordpress.com/space-upgrade/ As your account was registered prior to September 1st, 2014 I believe you do not need to purchase the bundles of upgrades. I think you can purchase a space upgrade separately, and if you want to do that you have to type modlook into the sidebar tags of this thread to get Staff help with making that purchase.
