Looking for opinions on registering a copyright and/or creative commons license

    Has anyone ever registered their WordPress blog with the US Copyright office?

    If so, was it a smooth process? How do I go about it? I checked out copyright.gov, but there doesn’t seem to be much guidance on how to copyright online material.

    Also, what all is covered under the copyright for a blog? Does it cover all existing blog posts, as well as future blog posts? Does it cover documents (e.g. short stories written by me) that I attach to blog posts?

    Could I run into legality issues if there are hotlinks to third-party websites in my copyrighted blog posts?

    Also, what is your opinion of Creative Commons licensing? From what I understand, it looks to me like a Creative Commons license is like an addendum that adds flexibility to an already registered copyright, NOT a replacement for the copyright itself. Is that understanding correct?
