Looking for simple content curation plugin

Please recommend a plugin that can insert post excerpt from provided url (possibly from selected text) and image from into my post. I would write some additional ideas to that.
Storify plugin is closest but I am looking for something that stores the content locally.
Have tried “Press This” snipplet but could not get it workingI cannot believe a plugi like that does not exist.

There is no upgrade you can purchase that will provide FTP access and the ability to install plugins, upload themes, and/or edit templates and themes in a free hosted WordPress.com blog.

Our plugin Curation Traffic does that, we have both a theme version and a plugin version that works with any WordPress theme. Here’s the plugin version: http://curationtraffic.com/products/curation-traffic-plugin/
If your looking for a free plugin I’m not sure of any recommendations as one of the reasons why we built our tool is we couldn’t find anything that was essentially push button simple and worked good.
One thing on PressThis, if it’s not working then it’s usually a permission issue within your install. Usually editing something in your .htaccess or php.ini will solve this, but that’s different for each host. Usually a search leads you to the answer on that thought.

When people provide WordPress.ORG answers here what we experience and increase in the number of bloggers who continue to post to the wrong support forums for their software. Currently about 30% of those posting here who ought to post to http://wordpress.org/suipport/ Please continue your conversation with the blogger above after he/she registers a WordPress.org username and posts to the correct support forum at http://wordpress.org/support/forum/plugins-and-hacks
