Looking for the plainest free template but your site won’t cooperate

I had a template but it kept adding all my posts tot he top and it was driving me insane so I picked one that looked plain. I need a header pictures, and the ability to link on the from page. Plain, but this site keeps adding weird things to any template I choose that is not shown on the original page and it’s driving me insane.
So please, recommend the plainest template. I know enough html to link thinks on my own but your templates keep changing and I have lost the ability to not get upset when trying to fix it, so I am asking for some help. Thank you.

You could try the Blank Canvas, although this might be too minimal. You will get access to the Full Site Editor to add other content as needed.

thanks but i can’ find it. I’ll look again. Plain is all I want. I know enough Htmel to do the basics. Thanks
