Hi there,
When we publish a post with categories or tags assigned to it the software automatically posts it to the dynamic category and tags pages.
Generally speaking the same display we see on any theme on the front page of the blog (the main page for posts) is exactly what we get on the dynamic category and tags pages. We can over-ride that by using the excerpt function but do know that doing that will not necessarily mean that the HTML will activated.
https://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/excerpts/#creating-excerptsI’m not clear on why are trying to do this.

P.S. This is a public support forum available to all with internet access. I recommend removing your email address from the sidebar tags because if you don’t spammers will spam it and sell it to other spammers and phishers who will also spam it.

It’s important to note that most themes do not display thumbnail images on Archives and Categories pages. In the majority of themes, posts on category or other archive pages show up just as they do on the main posts page. But in some themes like Twenty Ten only the beginnings of posts are shown, and in a few themes you only get titles or thumbnails.
See here please > http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/03/25/full-posts-in-archive-pages/To display posts with images in 2010, edit each post and copy and paste the whole content from the HTML editor into the Excerpt module. If you’re not seeing the Excerpt module while on the post editor screen, click Screen Options (top right) to activate it.

Timethief,
Thanks for the response. Not sure that answers my question. Seems like most themes revert to post excerpts vs full on pages. I have read that support like previously and doesnt apply.
As to why? I want my viewers to most easily read the content. Clicking continue just doesnt work for me nor my users.
Thanks,
J

I don’t think you have had the time to read what I posted here https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/looking-for-themes-that-do-not-use-excerpts?replies=5#post-2350734
Your main page for posts will have full posts if you are not entering the more tag into each and every post.

@ cbicadmin,
I am trying to use the display-posts in a page…
I presume you mean Display posts shortcode.
…and do not want the posts to display in full not excerpt format.
A double negative, and the lack of a comma makes this very confusing. It appears to say the following:
1. I do not want the posts to display in full, and
2. I do not want to display posts excerpts. Please restate your original request, more clearly.
