Looking to create interactive widget

I would like to title it “Get a Quote”

I am a mortgage banker and I would like to have fields where a customer can enter information and I can rrespond to them with a mortgage quote. For example:

    Loan Amount:
    Purpose: Refinance, Purchase:
    Credit Scores:
    Address of Property:

They can then submit this information to me and I can give them a custom quote – any suggestions?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You can put a contact form in the sidebar, and with the changes that staff made to the contact form, you can do some pretty amazing stuff with it including adding custom fields and having check boxes and such.

You can also put the Contact Form on a Page and link to that Page from the sidebar or elsewhere on your site – I do that on my site and having the Contact Form on a Page that I link to keeps things real clean looking.

Thank you for the help. I have figured out how to put this into a post – how do you put it in the side bar?

You can place the link to the contact form on your static page in a text widget and display it in your sidebar. http://en.support.wordpress.com/links/text-widget-links/

Thanks for everyone’s help – last question. When I do the contact form – it shows my name, email, and website. How can I make this blank so that the customer can put their information in without erasing mine first.

I didn’t add my information into contact form, so I don’t know why it is showing my info.

The reason you see that display is that your are logged in. No one else can see it. WordPress.com uses cookies to keep track of commenters so if someone makes a comment on your blog, the next time they come to your blog, unless they have cleared their cookies, WordPress.com will recognize them and complete the details for them. No one else will be able to view those details. The next person who comments will see blank fields. Commenters will not see each other’s details.

P.S. What I said about comment boxes also applies to Contact form information. Log out and then you can see exactly what visitors to your site see ie. a Contact form with no data entered into it.
