Looking to undo a prior attempt at a site.
-
I am the new web person for an organization.
I am attempting to archive the prior url test attempt at the old wordpress.com site, as we have our official site up now.
I am looking for any information that you can provide me to help in this regard.
What is happening, is this test site is showing up in google searches, seems to be active, and is confusing people looking to join our organization, as the information is out of date.
If someone could contact me, I can provide more information.
Thank you.

Hi there!
What’s the address of the site you’re trying to archive? The site that’s on this account, contact123454321.wordpress.com, doesn’t seem to have any content, but if you want to delete it, you can do so by following the instructions here: https://wordpress.com/support/delete-site/
If you’re referring to a different site, please share the link with and us we can check further.
Generally speaking, if the site is under a different WordPress.com account, you’ll need to log in to that account in order to make the site private or delete it permanently. If you don’t remember the account details for that particular site, you can follow our account recovery instructions here: https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/
Hope that helps!

Hello there,
I can’t see this site connected to this account.
Can you tell me if you have access to multiple WordPress accounts?
-
I do not. I created the contact123454321.wordpress.com account, just in an effort to be able to post about trying to resolve the https://jimstestforpack194.wordpress.com/
situation. What the team thinks happened, is that a prior person experimented with setting up a website for the pack.
We don’t know who, or when.
But, it is showing up in Google, and confusing new members who are trying to get to the correct, new website.
Does that make sense?
Thanks.

Hello there,
That does make sense.
Do you know if a purchase was made with any payment methods that you’re in control with?
If yes, you may be able to locate a transaction ID from a statement of a payment method used: https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/#account-recovery-form
I hope this helps.
-
No. That’s part of the problem.
We, internally, have no record of who nor with what this was set up with, nor even when…
Any of that data might help us narrow it down….
Thanks

We are limited in how we can help here in the support forums, as verifying account ownership requires us to ask you to provide info that is best not shared in this public venue.
With this in mind, please reach out to our account recovery team at passwordhelp@wordpress.com and they will be able to assist you in private rather than continue the discussion here in the open, thanks!
