Looks like our favicon issue is solved, or is it?

For me it was quite quick but yeah as mentioned above apparently it can take some time to appear, and to change…
So to go back to my initial question: we do not need to request a favicon.ico option amymore, right? Or does anybody think that this feature has some downsides compared to a real favicon.ico? (well if I have a small image in the address bar next to the address of my blog and it also appears in the bookmarks section of my readers’ browsers I would tend to call that a full favicon but… some people here might think otherwise??? -
I don’t think there need be any more requests. I like what WP have offered and I can’t see them offering another alternative any time soon.

I think thats really cool because it was something some people here in the forums assumed was good for WordPress ( making their brand visible etc) and in the end you realise it was nothing to do with that at all…
Plus I love the low profile way they announced it “today’s post is dedicated to chuck norris”, I was like “What?”, with no mention that this feature was introduced because of numerous requests or anything, but just between two major announcements…I think this low profile way of to put to their drecit… Thats why I wasnt too sure if this was the REAL thing… but it does look REAL to me and I like it :) -

hopefully this isn’t a question that’s already been asked/answered — is anyone else having trouble with the blavatar not appearing? i redirect my blog to another domain, so i’m wondering if the blavatar feature would still work in that case…

Yes, it should still work and on the blog linked in your username it is working perfectly. Have you tried clearing your browser’s cache and cookies and then logging in again? It does seem that it sometimes takes a while for the new picture to filter through the system for the user of the blog but not for everyone else!

I uploaded a picture to be used as my blavatar but it ended up being to dark, so I made some changes to my image, deleted the old image and then uploaded the new image. But I still am getting my old image what is going on? Is it just slow to take effect? If so haw long do I have to what to see the new image? Help? Thanks.

Browsers cache the favicons for awhile. You can try clearing out your browser cache. -
