losing formatting

    re: energynewyork.wordpress.com

I’ve been working hard all day on my site adding and editing a lot of pages. In the last couple of hours everytime a “update page” I lose my formatting. For example all the links I’ve inserted will be gone and everything will be in the heading I’ve set. I put in the html codes by hand and this still happens. Then I went to edit one of the pages I had done yesterday (Energy and Society: The Basics) and all the formatting was messed up. I had put key words in a bulleted list in green bold and everything in the list was now green and not bold, and the bullets were gone. I went in and fixed the formatting, but every time I push “update page” it gets messed up again. What gives? Thanks, Jocelyn.

It’s happening to me too, so you’re not the only one. I lost A LOT of formatting on one of my articles. It’s going to take a while for me to redo it.

Don’t redo anything until this thing is sorted out as it will just keep happening. Wait until staff has the bug(s) squashed.

thanks so much! I thought I was losing my mind! Jocelyn.

Hello! Assuming that this problem really is “fixed,” am I going to have to go back and reformat all my affected posts? Images are STILL missing, fonts are STILL wrong, and type is STILL HUGE. Blog is at http://storij.wordpress.com. Thanks for your help! –Mary
P.S. My other 2 blogs are okay but I’m afraid to post to them….

Also, just to mention something I saw while looking at your blog: Due to abuse by tag spammers, wordpress.COM had to enact a limit on the total number of tags + categories (total) that can be used on a post and still have it show up in the wordpress.COM global tags pages.

    The limit is 12 or less. Example: 2 categories + 10 tags = 12 total or 4 categories + 8 tags = 12 total.

Again, this limitation was due to abuse. In one case I heard of a blogger was using the same exact 100 tags on all of their posts whether the tags were relevant or not.

If you want your posts to be in the global tags pages, then you are going to have to edit them and bring the total tags + categories down to 12 or under.

If you don’t car whether your posts are in the global tags pages, then ignore this post.
