I would like to have my theme colors the same on Android ad it is on PC — also, how do I adjust fonts sizes and colors after publishing?

  • Hi there,

I would like to have my theme colors the same on Android ad it is on PC

Could you please share the URL of your website?

how do I adjust fonts sizes and colors after publishing?

You can change the color and font size for a particular post from the editor itself.

If you want to change the color of the theme, you can go to My Site(s) → Design → Customize. There will be a note on that page if the theme does not support custom colors.

Read more about custom colors here: https://wordpress.com/support/custom-design/custom-colors

Thank you bizanimesh, after I posted my question I discovered that the WordPress theme I had chosen for my blog was an older version that does not support mobile devices. I changed to a theme that does support mobile devices, my content transferred OK, so now I am happy, except for all the wasted time in working with that older theme.

One comment I have is this: any theme that does not read well on mobile devices is quite obviously obsolete. WordPress should make it clear to the user the limitations of their themes, or simply retire the older themes or both. I will never understand how web development sites could allow the user to be cast adrift in a mix of efficiency and rank obsolescence. It simply makes no sense whatever.

Glad to hear you have managed to solve the issue.

so now I am happy, except for all the wasted time in working with that older theme.

I am so sorry for the trouble you are having with themes. That definitely shouldn’t be happening.

It is always recommended to prepare a list of your must-have features so you know right away if a theme is hitting the mark. You can use the filters to narrow down the themes with the features and layouts you want for your website.

Before the installation of the theme, try to know the theme as much as possible. You can go to the overview page of a theme to learn more about the features of the theme. You can use the Live demo option, it is specially designed to showcase all of the features of a particular theme.

You can also click on Try & Customize to open the theme in the Customizer with your site’s content loaded. The Customizer will show you a live preview of the theme with your content. It’s a great way to test drive a theme if you already have content on your site.

You can scroll up and down and click around on your site to get an idea of how the new theme will work with your content, and if you find the theme to be perfect for your website you may go to activate it.

I sincerely appreciate your understanding in this matter. Please feel welcome to reach out to me with any questions you may have and I would be more than happy to help. 🙂

I do have one more issue. I would like to remove the comments option from my blog, and if possible the contact form. I am linking the WordPress blog to my main website where there is already a contact form.
The reason for this is to minimize and simplify my interactions. I have a very full schedule is why.

  • I would like to remove the comments option from my blog

I’m assuming you already have few posts published.

How to disable comments on future posts?

Please go to My Site 🠒 Manage 🠒 Settings 🠒 Discussion and in “Default article settings” disable the “Allow people to post comments on new articles” option. It will disable comments by default on your new articles.

How to disable comments on published posts?

Please go to My Site 🠒 WP Admin 🠒 Posts, select all your posts, choose “Edit” from the “Bulk Actions” dropdown box, and click on “Apply”. Screenshot: https://imgur.com/a/sU0kHm4

You’ll now be able to perform bulk actions for all the selected posts.

Select “Do not allow” from the comments dropdown box and click on “Update”. Screenshot: https://imgur.com/a/ya2VBxh

This will disable comments on all your selected posts.

and if possible the contact form

Could you please share the page URL where you have the contact form?

  • Hi there,

You can either put that page in “Drafts” or completely delete it.

After that, you can use the new Custom Menu to create a navbar link to the contact page of your main website.
