Losing of content in reformatted text in HTML view

  Hi! As I use ” text in the preformatted section of my post, the text disappears whenever I switch to the HTML view and switch back to Visual view. This causes me to not be able to add a local anchor in my post.

  Hi there!

  I’m not sure I understand what exactly happens. Do you mean that while using the Preformatted Block, after editing the block as HTML, going back to Visual will remove all the text? Like this? https://d.pr/i/IFSfW2

  As you can see, on my test site it works without issues so it would be great if you could give us some more details. Thanks!

  For example the highlighted text in Preformatted Block:
  

  For any string that begins with “<” and ends with “>” will result in it to be automatically removed whenever I toggle between the HTML view and Visual view:

  What is the code are you trying to add while in HTML view? We do not allow certain tags on WordPress.com, including JavaScript, Flash, iframe, form, and input tags.

  These restrictions are in place to prevent any disruptions in service due to potentially malicious code.
