Losing things to (auto save)

I’m new to this from feb. I’m having trouble with the auto-save. I’m trying to move some of my pages to post (to archive them) but When I try to make them look better auto-save kicks in and I lost about half of the page. It was mostly Sr. pictures from the area schools. Now I Have to go back and find the pictures. Is there a way to turn off auto-save untill your finished with the POST? It’s getting very agrevating to have to go back and redo. I’m very new to this any HELP would be greatly appriciated. Seams every time I get used to something they change It. Thanks! Don

We need a link to your blog, starting with http, so we can take a look.
There is no way to turn off Autosave, but the pictures should be in the Gallery associated with the post and easy to re-insert.

You lose half of what you had when auto save kicks in? The auto save just saved my post after the screen went blank this second and showed this message.

Well, you wait a few minutes and then hit reload. Give it five minutes or so. Looks like there may be a system-wide hiccup going on right now.
