Losing Users on Redirect

I redirected blog 1 to blog 2. Saved the content from blog 1 so it appears on blog 2. Apparently, I lost all the 300 users/followers from blog 1. There was no warning that this would happen (at least that I understood). How can these followers and their email addresses be retrieved or forwarded? I don’t understand why the users list was not redirected.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Will you please both of the URLs involved?

Whereas I would assume people subscribed to blog 1 wouldn’t appreciate suddenly being subscribed to blog 2. Same with googlejuice. If you delete the URL and start a new one, you start from zero. These things should be explained in the documentation.

Thanks for the responses. Blog 1 was merely moved to a new domain. There are not two separate blogs. We began with http://www.eddiesettles.com. That is where people signed up. The name of the blog is Back in River City, however, so it makes more sense for domain name to be http://www.backinrivercity. We are simply redirecting traffic from eddiesettles.com to http://www.backinrivercity.com. and in the future telling people to type in backinrivercity.com

I didn’t realize we were deleting everything. I did transfer the posts but again, did not realize that the followers would be dropped. The documentation is not newbie-friendly.
