Lost 2FA to my other account
-
Hi, I need help for my other account with this credentials:
- username: anasthaeka
- site address: anasthaeka.wordpress.com; nsthk.wordpress.com
I changed my phone and mobile number, forgot to change my 2FA settings to that account, so I can’t access both authenticator app and code sent to my old number.
I tried account recovery form using an old transaction code from 2014. That was the only time I made an upgrade for the account. Transaction code is 8772733049, made on May 13, 2014. Checked the code on WPCHRG.COM, the transaction existed. But when I submitted the code to the account recovery form, the system said it’s not valid.
That’s the only proof of owner I have. Don’t have activation URL or key since the account was created in 2007 or 2008, no longer have the emails from those years anymore.
I need to access my Jetpack account.
Please help.

instead of the 2FA-code you must use one of the backup codes you got when you set up 2FA and you were supposed to save on a safe place as they are crucial in cases like this.

You’re absolutely right…. It’s just too bad that I can’t timetravel to 5 years ago and lecture my stupid past self for underestimating that this thing would happen.

Hi there!
The transaction ID you shared is not valid, which is why it wasn’t recognized in the account recovery form. We can’t help with account recovery issues in the forums. Could you please send an email to passwordhelp@wordpress.com? Our dedicated account recovery team will be happy to assist you via email with logging into your WordPress.com account.
Thanks!

Hi, aisajib. Thank you for responding. I’ve sent an email to the address you gave and am still waiting for the reply. If it’s possible, I want to leave this topic open until I receive a solution.

Hi, if I understand correctly this issue is resolved as of today. If anything else comes up feel free to let us know.

The recovery team has contacted me with instructions to enter and deactivate my account, and the problem has resolved successfully. Thank you!
