    Hi I hope you can help. I am desperately lost in how to create a web page for my recently published book and related content. I cannot seem to grock widgets and blocks. I tried to apply a WP template which looks like it is available but I don’t make the connection between template and fitting my content to it. If I could just have someone knowledgeable walk me through the dashboard and to understand how to build my content- I am sure I can progress but at the moment I am groping around in a black box and not finding success yet.

    Hi there,

    There is a lot to learn and can be overwhelming for new people. There are a TON of resources available, sometimes too many, as you’ll see different ways of doing the same thing.

    I would suggest start reading the Getting Started with WordPress page. It’s got a lot of useful information.

    There is also the difference between WordPress.com (this site) and WordPress.org (not this site).

    Companies like GoDaddy and Bluehost offer WordPress.org, so the support for that product is offered in a different forum.

    Many of the other companies offer support, but it can be hit and miss. If you decide to try out WordPress.com, the paid plans come with live chat support, email, and of course, this forum.

    Hopefully, that can help get you started understanding the basics and make a decision of which product will work for you.
