Lost a post

I was working on a post earlier today.

Well, whenever I’m about to make a new post, wordpress usually diverts me to the new interface for writing out a post (rather than the old classic interface), and since I prefer the old classic interface for making a new post I always used to click the link on top of the page which diverted me to the classic interface.

Now today morning, I decided to finally try out the new interface, and yea, I started typing out my post.

After about 350 words, I decided to add in a picture, and immediately after I dropped in the picture from my computer to the dialog box, my page reloaded, and you know what? I lost my post!

Okay, I’ve been blogging for nearly five years with wordpress with three different blogs, and today is the first time I lost a post altogether. Like, even if you reload a page accidentally, (or if you accidentally closed your browser for instance), I was usually able to retrieve my posts from the ‘Drafts’ section.

But this time it seems wordpress did not automatically save the post for me. Atleast, it’s not there in the ‘Drafts’.

And you know what? It is annoying when after typing in around 300-400 words, you’re forced to retype an entire post. (And you don’t get the same level of originality either).

Perhaps one of the engineers can verify whether the posts are automatically saved in the case of the newer interface.

    I’m not happy.

I wonder if my issue is related to this as well.
I wrote and published a post yesterday to http://www.waywardwanderers.com I even went home, opened it on my mobile and read it to my bf.
Today, I tried to access my dashboard and site and couldn’t. When it did finally come back up, the post is GONE!!! I have an older version of my post but it’s only a paragraph or so.
Is there some way to get it back? It was very long and I loved it. It only shows 2 revisions for drafts and I know I had at least 20.
    What do I do?

You mean, even your published post is gone?! Like, even from the website? That’s intriguing.

Well, in my case, it wasn’t even published to start with. Okay, I hadn’t explicitly saved it, but still I was relying on the autosave feature on WordPress.

What I suspect is that their new interface (which comes after a “beep beep boop”) has a buggy autosave mechanism.
