Lost access to old site and want to set it to private
-
I am trying to set my old blog and its posts to private (I haven’t used it since 2011).
I no longer have access to the email address I used to sign up because I used a custom domain name and I did not renew the domain so now someone else owns it. I can provide the email address I used, I know what it was, but I can’t access it anymore.
I have tried all of my old passwords, but they aren’t working. I haven’t logged in in a decade, so I’m guessing that it’s been reset or something in that time.
To prove that I am the blog owner, there is a protected post that requires a password to view. I do know *that* password and can provide it as evidence that I created the blog, but my old password to log into the wordpress dashboard isn’t working.
One of the wordpress support pages says:
‘If there’s personal information on your blog, you may request that we set it to private so that search engines and users can’t access it. ‘I would like to set my old site to private, but I can’t find anywhere to email or ask for someone to do that.
Please assist, thank you!

Hey there, we do require at least one of the proofs from the account recovery form — even an old transaction ID would do, but I can’t see the correct site to see whether it has one.
I can’t make any promises as to whether it would be accepted, but if you’d like to reach out to the account recovery team privately and share what you have as proof, you can do that here:
passwordhelp@wordpress.comHoping this helps!
