Lost access to sites after JetPack issue

  • Unknown's avatar

    I have a couple of websites on WordPress. My blog still works, but these sites are not working properly after JetPack conducted an update. I cannot access these to update or correct the error issues.

    Here is the error message:
    Error Details
    =============
    An error of type E_COMPILE_ERROR was caused in line 41 of the file /home3/…/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/load-jetpack.php. Error message: require_once(): Failed opening required ‘/home3/…/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/class.jetpack.php’ (include_path=’.:/opt/php71/lib/php’)

    How do I regain access or correct this error?

  • Hi @mrmatley, it sounds like this is missing that file in Jetpack. Uninstalling and reinstalling it should fix that. Can you give that a shot?

    Then if you need more help, the correct forum for Jetpack going forward is here:

    Thank you for the reply. Unfortunately, with the error, I am unable to access the admin functions for the sites. It does not recognize my user name or my email. I will do what you suggest if I can get into the admin page.

    Any ideas on how to fix the loss of access?

    Thanks, again.

  • You’ll need to delete the Jetpack plugin folder via FTP at your host. Please contact support at your hosting provider directly for help accessing FTP on your server.
