Lost access to the email I set up the account with

I am trying to access my blog, but lost access to the email account I set it up with, so cannot get a password reset. Have no other evidence of ownership either

If you aren’t able to provide an email from the email address with which the blog was registered, a PayPal transaction ID, or the original activation link, I’m afraid we won’t be able to help you recover the account.
We have a strict policy in place to protect our users from third parties who might try to use our support system to gain access to other users’ accounts.

That is disappointing and frustrating, all the more because I did not change my password but for some reason don’t get access anymore. I do understand your policy, but there are non-automated ways to check whether I am the legitimate administrator/contributor to those blog. I run a work and a family blog from that account. I cannot believe there is nothing you can do

This EXACT thing is happening to me and it’s preposterous that there is no way to recover account whose lost email access. I can tell you EXACTLY what is in my drafts on the blog (unpublished) and I can give undeniable proof that this is my blog, not to mention the recovery email for the email address I used (which I do not have access to anymore) is my email that I still have access to. How can you not have a way to get us back into our blogs?

It’s unacceptable to have the answer to trying to access our accounts and all of our work be, “sorry”. So much for Happiness Engineers…

If you have a wordpress.com technical support issue you need help with then clearly state exactly what it is in a new thread by using https://en.forums.wordpress.com/?new=1 and when you do be sure to post the URL of the site you are referring to.
