Lost account

Hi guys. I created a website for my friends in 2018. They paid for their own domain. Subsequently, due to financial difficulties during the Covid epidemic, the annual fee was not paid. But now they want to restore the site and want me to continue editing it. But I cannot log in with my old account, which is obviously blocked. How can I restore it? Can the site I created be found, or is it completely destroyed?

We don’t sell .fi domains on WordPress.com, and the domain, helsinkihunaja.fi, has never been connected to any site hosted on our service.
If you had a WordPress site on that domain, it was using the open source version of WordPress, and hosted at another provider.
Unfortunately that’s as much as I’m able to tell you. The domain is no longer registered, and I cannot find any historical data on it, indicating where it might have been registered or hosted previously.
The best suggestion I can make is to go through your archived emails – you should have emails from your domain and hosting provider, including account verification emails, receipts, renewal reminders, etc. Whoever those emails came from is where your site was hosted, and that’s who you need to contact to ask if they still have any backups of your site on their servers.
