Lost Account
-
Hello there, I had created an account under a different E-Mail, though I’m not sure if I had disabled it or not. I’m unable to log into it now and trying to create an account says ‘an account exists with that E-Mail’, BUT if I try to reset my password it tells me no account exists with the E-Mail. Any chance I could get that old account back?
I don’t have a site with WordPress.com yet

Hi there:
Can you let us know what account you’re trying to access? Once we have that information, we’ll be better able to advise.
Thanks!

So sorry for the late reply! I’m trying to access my account under “(email visible only to moderators and staff)”.

Hello there,
There’s no WordPress.com account connected to that email address.
What is the URL of the site you’re looking to access?
-
That was the weird part, for whatever reason if I tried to register it said an account with that E-Mail is in use and if I reset my password it said no account has that E-Mail.
I actually didn’t have a website attached to that account, I was looking to just change my gravatar icon.

Interesting, and it’s not using one of our auto-generated Gravatars? Can you send a link to the existing Gravatar image?
Also, if you log out, then go to https://wordpress.com/start/account/user , can you create the account there? If that isn’t working, would you mind if we tested on our side? -

Yep! No worries, feel free to test on your end. I’m sure it’s something dumb on my part anyways haha.

Hm, given that you mentioned you may have disabled the account, would you know when that was? We have some account recovery info at the link below – there’s a limit to what we can do when the request is coming from a different account unfortunately, so if you could get in touch from that email address specifically then we can check it over properly:
