Lost account info

    My boss hosts a fashion website at “atlantafashionweek.com” but created the site some time ago, and no longer knows the login info. I’ve attempted to complete an Account Recovery Form, but she never purchased any upgrades for the site, and didn’t save the emails with the API or any other keys or codes.

    Numerous photos and bodies of text have been uploaded to the site, though it is not currently accessible to the public (only a splash page appears when the URL is visited) — it would be a major inconvenience to have to start the site entirely over, as some of the content no longer exists outside of the original site.

    Is there *any* way that we can regain access to the site? She thinks that since the host server was switched between GoDaddy accounts (after her last web designer completed his work with her) the link may have been lost. The site also supposedly was upgraded to a wordpress.org site. I’m uncertain if this may have had an affect on the login info either.

    Any insight is appreciated, I know this is not much to work with.

    Howdy,

    That site isn’t hosted on WordPress.com, so we’re unable to help regain access to the account.

    You can try to use the “Lost your password?” link at http://atlantafashionweek.com/wp-login.php?redirect_to=http%3A%2F%2Fatlantafashionweek.com%2Fwp-admin%2F&reauth=1 .

    Sites built with WordPress.org have their own logins and are completely separate from the login for WordPress.com. Trying the e-mail address of who should have been the admin is the best bet.

    Beyond that, the host of the site appears to be GoDaddy. They may be able to help you get access to the hosting account. From there, there are a few different ways to change the password ( http://codex.wordpress.org/Resetting_Your_Password ).

    Hello,

    Many apologies but apparently the website is actually “atlantaintlfashionweek.com” not simply “atlantafashionweek.com” — could you tell me if that site is registered with WordPress?

    And if so, is there any way to help reset the acct info?
    The email it’s registered to should be “(email visible only to moderators and staff)”

    Hi,

    http://atlantaintlfashionweek.com/ doesn’t appear to be using WordPress at all. It isn’t hosted at WordPress.com and the site itself doesn’t appear to be a typical WordPress-based site.

    You could try to check with a service like http://www.whoishostingthis.com/ to determine what hosting company is hosting that site and contact their support. It appears that GoDaddy hosts that site.
