Lost Admin Information
-
I’m trying to connect my wordpress blog to an external website, but need admin information. The original creator of the blog is no longer around and the email connected to the account is discontinued. I’m the primary editor and administrator for the blog now. Is it possible to get the admin privileges changed?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi –
You can transfer ownership of a site to another WordPress.com user, but you need the transfer to be initiated by the owner of the blog. Here’s how: https://en.support.wordpress.com/transferring-a-site-to-another-wordpress-com-account/
Are you able to get in touch with the owner of the site?

No, that’s the problem. At some point the original log in information was lost, and the email connected to the account is inactive. So I can’t get to a page where the “transfer” button is an option.

Sadly, there is nothing that can be done to recover the account, unless you can prove ownership of it.
Here’s the account recovery information:
https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recoveryYou will need to be able to provide one of the items listed to prove ownership of the domain. Or, get in touch with the original owner and have it transferred to you.
