I’ve had to create this account to contact support.

I know my password for my usual account, elesedowden.com, but have two-step authentication enabled.

I cannot access any means of authentication. My old phone died and my laptop which means I have lost all access to my backup codes, authenticator app, WordPress app and old phone number.

Please help – I didn’t purchase upgrades via Paypal so can’t prove the account is mine with this but as I say I know the password and I have access to/own all email accounts associated with the account so just need to get the authentication disabled so that I can login and set up the two-step authentication again on my new phone and generate new backup codes.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

I see you have several upgrades in that account. All transactions on WordPress.com are processed via PayPal, so even if you don’t have a PayPal account, there will be a PayPal transaction ID for those upgrades.

If you can access the email account for that site and you didn’t delete the emails with receipts for your upgrades, you’ll be able to find the transaction IDs there. Else, you can also contact PayPal directly. If you provide them with your card number and the date and amount of the transaction they can provide you with the transaction ID.

With that information you should then be able to submit the account recovery form to regain access to your account.

If you still have the email you received when activating your WordPress.com account, you can also use the activation link in that email as a form of verification on the form.

Let me know if you are unable to recover the transaction IDs in this way or to recover the activation link.

Thank you so much! I’ve filled out an account recovery form with the details from upgrade emails so hopefully I can get in this way. Does this mean I will be able to get past my 2 step verification? I am so frustrated and am glad to have your help.

If your verification details check out the person who answers your email should be able to help you, yes. There’s usually a bit of a backlog after the weekend, so it might take a while. Please be patient while waiting for someone to reply to you.
