Lost all access to WordPress and my site

    Hi all,

    Yes, I’ve done the exact thing I know is shouldn’t have.

    I tried restoring my website to a previous version using a backup from updraftplus and it’s gone wrong.

    I have completely lost access to my website, and I can no longer log into WordPress.com, as it comes up with an error message.
    The pages I do have open on my wordpress “my account page” are blank, where the boxes all seem broken.

    I can’t even use live chat with wordpress admin as the link is broken.

    The website wasn’t live and only slightly developed, so not too much work was lost, but i’d love to have access to it and my wordpress pages…

    Can anything be done about this?
    Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Hi there, could you confirm which site you need help with?

    Is it one hosted here with our services, or with another provider?

    If it’s with another provider, I’d recommend asking them to restore a backup. If it’s hosted here, we’ll have a backup, too, but I don’t see a site on your account that you would have been able to restore to, so do let us know the site link so we can help you sort this out.

    Ah I see. So the website is http://www.rcempire.co.uk

    It’s hosted by Siteground, and i’ve been using wordpress.com to edit everything etc.

    Not sure if this helps (taken yesterday before the changes) :
    WordPress version 5.5.1
    Current theme: Revo (version 3.5.6)
    Current plugin: Sw Woocommerce (version 1.6.16)
    PHP version 7.3.16

    I also had domain mapping for:
    rcempirecouk.wpcomstaging.local

    Ah I’m glad they’ve got it. These forums are for free sites hosted here, which are really quite different from an installation of the open source software, so going forward you’ll want to be sure to head to this other forum instead:
