lost all customizations during downgrade/upgrade

for slogull.com… yesterday, I downgraded my plan from Business to Premium, and it uses a Premium theme (Broadsheet). The premium theme disappeared, so just now, purchased Broadsheet, but the site has lost ALL customizations. So, I just upgraded back to Business, and the customizations are till gone–for example, custom header. Can you help me restore the site as it was before I cancelled the Business plan? This is urgent, thanks.

There should be CSS revisions in the customizer. But if you are talking about widgets or theme specific customizations, I’m afraid those are lost when you make switches like that. You will need to redo them from scratch.

Well that’s a difficult pill to swallow. Thanks for your quick reply. One more question Josh… Is there a way to get a refund for the premium theme I purchased yesterday in my panic? (Since it is included in our Business plan)

Not a problem. I have processed that refund for you. Please be aware that it can take up to 7-10 business days for refunds to show up on your statement.

thanks Josh! the repair wasn’t quite as bad as I had imagined–I was able to view the old site using the Wayback Machine, and restore the CSS within WP Admin.

Josh–looks like something went wrong when you refunded my Premium purchase. I should now be under the Business plan… but instead I am now under the Free plan.
Bottom line is–I need to use the Broadsheet theme with all customizations that were made under the Business plan (CSS etc). I don’t care if I am using a Premium plan + purchase of the theme, or the Business plan (which includes the theme) but I need to get this fixed right away for my client.
I had it all repaired and looking perfect before you refunded my Premium theme. Thank you for your help.

PS: just to be clear, here is what happened. Initially I downgraded our plan from Business to Premium to save money. In the process, I purchased the Premium plan + the Premium theme (Broadsheet). But when I lost all my customizations, I tried to restore the site by purchasing the Business plan. So now I have purchased a theme and two plans… and the site is showing as a Free plan!

Ahhhhh, sigh. Crud. That is my fault. Give me a minute here and I’ll get it sorted out again.
