Lost all my subscribers

I recently moved my blog oflifeandlacquer.com from being hosted by wordpress to Host Gator. I installed Jetpack and my subscribers were reset to 0. Also, all my stats are gone. :( The time is off so my day ends 6 hours too soon. I went and changed my time zone in my settings but it didn’t seem to do anything. If you are able to move over my email subscribers, what about all the people who subscribed by using the wordpress “follow” button? I’ve had a few people tell me that they had to re-follow me and now they are following 2 “Of Life And Lacquer” blogs.

    Someone please help me!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Subscribers are not moved automatically, we have to do it for you manually if you want, which I have just done.

Unfortunately, there is no way to transfer stats at this time.

I had mine transfered today and I asked the person assisting me, twice, this same thing and…

“Your email subscribers will be transferred to your new site. However WordPress.com users who follow your site using their WordPress.com user accounts will not be transferred. The Follow option is a feature that is only available on WordPress.com as it is designed for WordPress.com user accounts.

Once your transfer is finished, you can post to your old site at http://allthatmakesyou.wordpress.com to let your old followers know that they have to resubscribe to your new site using their email address. That post will only be on the old WordPress.com site and while it won’t visible (since the WordPress.com site now redirects to the new site) all of your previous WordPress.com followers will receive a notification for it.

I am confused. I would love to get my followers back. Can you please help me?

    Abbie

The followers who used the WordPress.com Reader cannot be transferred to your WordPress.org install. Only the email subscribers can be transferred.

Abbie: basically, what they are telling us is that we are f**ked. You can’t transfer people who used the wordpress reader where they pressed the follow button. They can only transfer people who subscribed to your blog by entering their email. So although you won’t lose ALL your subscribers, it’s still really frustrating. I just did what they recommended: posted about them having to re-subscribe on my old oflifeandlacquer.wordpress.com blog and then created a post on my new oflifeandlacquer.com blog explaining what happened and asking them re-subscribe via entering their email if they want to keep getting your updates.

I couldn’t have picked a worst time to change hosts since I am running two giveaways right now and had no idea what a clusterf**k this would turn into.

    Good luck.

    I’m confused. Didn’t
    “macmanx – Happiness Engineer”
State above that they can be moved and did so for you? Urg.

  • oflifeandlacquer, as mentioned above, I transferred your subscribers for you yesterday.

allthatmakesyou, as we mentioned during the Guided Transfer, we transferred your subscribers too.

The WordPress.com Reader only supports WordPress.com blogs, so when you move to a Jetpack-powered self-hosted WordPress.org blog, we can only transfer your email subscribers.

I am trying to figure this all out. I feel like I am learning a new language.
I received an email that my site was transfered and I was given a passcode to use temporarily to get in. I cant figure out where to use the passcode. It doesn’t work so I must be logging in to the wrong place?

  • That is possible. Please reply to the Guided Transfer email and our folks over there will get you going in the right direction.

I have been. No response. I am so frustrated.
Once you have been transfered do you still post on the same place? I was supposed to be transfered to allthatmakesyou.com.

  • They’ll reply soon, but make sure that you don’t repeatedly reply to your own email.

They handle emails from oldest first, so every time you reply it effectively bumps you back to the back of the line.

Well, I am using GoDaddy and I heard they are “down”. Ha ha! Awesome.

I still cannot login. I can’t get anyone to reply to email. The temporary passcode doesn’t work. When I log in it tells me I am not authorized. Help.

  • I have let them know, but please stop replying to your email thread. Every time you do that, it moves you to the back of the line because they handle all requests from oldest first.
