lost blog

    Hello,
I seem to have lost my wordpress blog. I was advised it was a GoDaddy issue. I checked with GoDaddy this morning and they advised the following: You just need to tell them that GoDaddy team has checked it and WordPress has gone out of provision please correct its provisioning so that domain can guide website over it.
I don’t understand what to do and how to get my blog (and its plugins) back.

Your domain http://www.nutzaboutstampingpages.com/ redirects to nutzaboutstampingpages.wordpress.com which doesn’t excist.

But it existed last week when I did some updates. So I am not sure what happened.

  • Hi there,

The domain, nutzaboutstampingpages.com, has never been connected to WordPress.com in any way, and the WordPress.com account you’re using to post here has never owned any sites with us.

Your domain is currently redirecting to WordPress.com, but that’s something that’s set up on GoDaddy’s end, and over which we have no control.

Your site at that domain is not using WordPress.com, but the open source WordPress.org software, hosted on GoDaddy’s servers.

Contact GoDaddy support and tell them to remove the 301 redirect they added to your domain, and then help you reconnect the domain to the WordPress site you have hosted on their servers.

Tell them exactly that. If they don’t understand, ask to speak to a manager, because it sounds like the person who has been helping you over there doesn’t know what’s going on.

    GoDaddy says:
I see a forwarded Ip on your domain already. I do see a wordpress template on your Dns But the wordpress hosting is not in your account. It is forwarded to somewhere else. You have a forwarded Ip on your domain. Your DNS records automatically forward this domain to WordPress. You can’t change these records unless you first remove the template.
Even the IP address indicates forwarding 184.168.131.241

Also I asked about .htaccess. GoDaddy responded: your htaccess file is supposed to be in your hosting account. Which is not in your godaddy account.

  • You will need to have the domain directed back to your hosting account with GoDaddy.

GoDaddy can help you with the specifics on that.

As the domain is not registered here, and the site is not hosted with us, we cannot help directly with this.

The site was using the self-hosted WordPress.org software, and to clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/
