Lost blog trying to transfer to WordPress.org

  First, let me begin by saying that I am not tech savvy. I was trying to move my blog from wordpress.com to wordpress.org. I went to my bluehost account, installed wordpress, thinking i could go back to wordpress.com and export my blog. Now I can’t find it. All I have is the new blog that has been created. I thought that worpress.com and .org were separate. Is there a way to get it back?
  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
