Lost connection to my website hosted elsewhere

Hi. I’ve had my website for years, created and edited with WordPress, hosted and domained elsewhere. Today WordPress required of me to update from 5.2 to 5.4. I did so with shaky hands, having had problems with WP updates creating new problems.. as if on purpose..
The only way to make my website viewable again was to disconnect jetpack from my website. Doing so made my website invisible from WP, and I fear I now have lost all connections between WP and my website data. My website http://www.vazapvfx.com is currently viewable, though it often requires to reload pages, but my real problem is I cannot edit it anymore! Which is akin to having lost my website as I may have to re create it elsewhere (certainly not with WP again).
I know these are tricks to push us into upgrading, which is appalling. The only way I would stay with WordPress is if I have the guarantee things can be fixed.
So I guess my questions are:
    – Can you re link my website data and domain to just the way it was until today?
    – Do you still have the ‘edit parameters’ to make my website editable again?

I have an important job interview tomorrow. My website is my CV, my portfolio, everything. Without it I’m going to loose potential jobs, thank you WP.

  • Hi there,

The site vazapvfx.com appears to be a self-hosted WordPress (also called “.org”) site hosted on FatCow Web Hosting, and not a site hosted on our WordPress.com service.

    You can confirm here: https://gwhois.org/vazapvfx.com+dns

To clarify, we are not the only providers of WordPress sites, and FatCow also happens to offer WordPress sites, but they use a different version of the platform than what we use here. Because of this we are not able to help with your issue as it lies outside of our system. See http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ for more info.

You can find support for your self-hosted WordPress site here: http://wordpress.org/support/

You may also wish to contact your host’s support team for more assistance.

Hope that points you in the right direction!
