Lost data
-
Hi. I have been working on a post for awhile and I’ve been adding and editing and saving as I go. Last Friday I saved my work and today when I went back to the draft, everything I had added on Friday was gone. Is this saved somewhere else because it was a good amount of writing and I hope I don’t have to rewrite it!

Hi there,
My overall site is https://wordpress.com/philqmusings
Your site address is https://philqmusings.wordpress.com/ If you give that link above to someone, it will just take them to an error page.
The revision logs for that draft indicates it was only created yesterday, 10 May. No record of this post exists prior to yesterday, so if you were working on a post on Friday, it was a different post with a completely different post ID. However, I also don’t see any other draft started on Friday, which would then indicate it never saved correctly.
In that case there’s nothing we can do, as we can’t restore data that never made it to our servers in the first place.

Ok, well, it doesn’t matter now. I’ve been working on that post all last week, so there should be previous revision, but I’ve basically rewritten the parts that were missing anyway. I guess that they didn’t save correctly, like you indicated. I did manually save several times and the autosave saved as well, but somehow it must have gotten lost. No worries. I’ve also copied the post to a backup document that I keep offline. Thanks.
