Lost Domain

Hi there, I’ve just inherited management of this website that has had the same domain since 2011, purchased annually.
Sometime after 2021 that domain stopped being annually subscribed, it seemed out payment lapsed and the previous website manager didn’t renew.
The domain is now parked with GoDaddy, even though we purchased it through WordPress. Does this mean someone else now has the domain and is utilising it? If so, what can we do?
It’s important we keep this domain address (or get it back promptly.)

It appears the domain expired quite some time ago. We’re checking with our registrar to see if and when it’ll be released. I’ll reply here as soon as we have an update on this.
In the meantime, would you be interested in using a different domain? I checked and found that both cassowaryrecovery.team and cassowaryrecoveryteam.com are available for registration.

It appears the domain can no longer be restored on our side. You can contact GoDaddy to see about purchasing the domain from them. Alternatively, you can register the other domains I suggested above if you’re open to using a different domain going forward.
