lost domain during registration fail

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi There,

When I tried to register with this account name the first time I used a domain name which isn’t available anymore after account creation failed. The domain name in question is: supicssports.wordpress.com

Is there a possibility to have this domain assigned to my account even though it is unavailable now?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • supicssports.wordpress.com is unavailable because another user has registered it.

I know it’s unavailable because I was the one who selected it during my initial registration only to have my account registration fail half way. After selecting that domain and making a username and password I got an error that password strength wasn’t sufficient. Somehow I pressed the back button (was on tablet) and the domain wasn’t available anymore. I just want to know if the domain name got lost in limbo or if it is really assigned to another user. The reason I ask this is because I can see the exact theme on the live site now I selected during registration.

  • That is very odd.

What happens when you go to this URL:

    https://supicssports.wordpress.com/wp-admin/

  • Unknown's avatar

    I get this screen
You are logged in as “username” and do not have the necessary privileges to access the dashboard for “supicssports”.

I also get to see this:
    Your Sites
supicssports Visit Dashboard | View Site

But when clicking view Site or Visit Dashboard I get another domain name I registered afterwards “supicsme.wordpress.com”.

This is happening because you’re currently sign into a different account to the one that’s associated with supicssports.wordpress.com.

Try signing out of WordPress.com by going to:

    https://wordpress.com/me

    Then click “Sign Out”.

Then back in again using a different username/email address.
