Lost domain name

  I accidentally started a wordpress.com blog instead of a .org. I wanted to take the domain name I had and have it hosted by a third party, but I accidentally deleted it. I still want to make a wordpress.org blog, but how do I get the domain name back? Does wordpress hold on to it forever?

  Hello there,
  As you deleted the .wordpress.com blog your were mapping from to the domain you will need Staff help and I have flagged this thread for their attention.

  As mentioned during the cancellation, we can’t guarantee that you’ll be able to re-register the domain.

  Canceled domains become the property of our registrar partner and are only returned to the public market at their discretion. We have no control over this process.
