Lost Domain – Need Access to Site

  Hello,
  Until recently I used my wordpress account very often with a custom domain called fashioncanadiana.com. I accidentally let the domain expire while I was out of the country and I’m currently waiting for the name to go back on the market so I can buy it again. What I’m wondering now is, how do I access the site itself through wordpress – even if it’s not live, or if I can change the url of the site back to wordpress.com/fashioncanadiana in the interim, that would work too. I’ve been researching and I can’t seem to figure it out.

  Hi VH,

  fashioncanadiana.com was registered through Launchpad, so you will need to contact them about recovering the domain — it appears to have expired a couple of months ago but there is a chance you may still be able to recover the domain before it is released.

  The domain was being used for a self hosted WordPress.org site, which is connected to your WordPress.com account with the Jetpack plugin. The differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.com are explained in this guide:

  We are only able to help with access to WordPress.com sites on these forums, so I recommend contacting your hosting provider. They should be able to give you some advice about the best way forward.
