Lost Draft

  • Unknown's avatar

I started typing a draft of a post a few days ago. When I had to leave for the evening, I set it to save as a draft. When I came back, it’s gone. Just gone. I can’t find it at all. I really, really wanted the writing that I’d done. It’s so important to me. Is there any way to find what was lost? A storage of deleted things? Something like that? I don’t understand why it disappeared anyway. Please help me. :[

    Hi!

Could you let me know the name of the post that was saved as a draft?

  • Unknown's avatar

Well, that was written under the wrong blog of mine, for starters. It was really for the nakedafterpeeing.wordpress.com blog. The name of the post… I’m not sure. Maybe Easiest Weight Loss Tip yet, or something along those lines.

I’m not seeing it under Naked After Peeing here:

Do you remember what blog you wrote the post under?

Yes, that’s the problem, that it’s disappeared. It was definitely under the Naked, After Peeing blog. I left it up on my computer with the save as draft option on. When I came back to my computer hours later, the page tried to reload, and then it was all gone.

I’m really sorry that happened! Do you remember if you were using the new editor at WordPress.com/post or the Classic Editor at nakedafterpeeing.com/wp-admin?

I’m not sure. One thing I can tell you is that I put it on the draft setting, then I went out. On my phone I opened Facebook, and I saw my post and freaked out because I didn’t know if only I could see it or if others could. So I pressed delete there, thinking it would delete it as a Facebook post. So I don’t know if that’s maybe why it was deleted on wordpress, but I don’t see why it would…

    Hi Arielle,

You’re right, deleting a post on Facebook would not be able to delete the post on your blog. Do you happen to have the WordPress app installed on your phone? If so, is it possible that you were looking at that instead of Facebook? I know they don’t really look much alike, but the WordPress app is the only phone app which has the ability to delete your post, and if it was already a draft then we should have had it unless it had been deleted somewhere.

It definitely was the Facebook app (I don’t have the WordPress app on my phone anyway). Please keep helping me with ideas about this because what I’d written was really important to me. I appreciate your efforts so much!

I sincerely apologize however the post you mentioned does not appear to be anywhere in our systems. It doesn’t show up as having been deleted, which means that the draft may not have saved fully before you left.

Again, I am sorry for this inconvenience.
