I have an existing account: https://jenneferhart.wordpress.com/
This was created years ago using an old email that I no longer can access. I have tried to Automatically Recover this – but do not have any of the Proof of Ownership needed – as this site was created such a long time ago. Can you please help me recover this site – move it into my new email please. This site contains quite allot of my personal information, so I urgently need to remove this ASAP. Please help.

    Hi there,

We cannot transfer ownership of a site under any circumstances without the proof of ownership required on our account recovery form, so if you’re unable to provide any verification there’s nothing we can do here.

Only a logged-in admin of a site can delete it.

I only see two published posts on that site, and neither of them contain any personal information. Where do you see the site displaying your personal info?

    Hi there Kokkieh,

Thanks for your reply. I totally understand you cannot transfer ownership without the necessary verification.

However, I created this site quite a few years ago now and I no longer have access to the email or the laptop that provides me with the necessary account recovery information you require.

The personal information I refer to is my own information. My name is Jennefer Hart and I created this when I was studying for my PhD way back in 2010 or 2011.
This site is still live and it holds my own personal data in relation to my name and PhD (which is now very out of date). So when anyone tries to find me online they come across this very out-of-date website. So ideally I want to either update it or remove it from the public domain.

Can you please advise me on what I can do in this instance.

    Thanks

    Hi there,

Please contact our Account Recovery Team at passwordhelp[at]wordpress.com and they will look at your account to see if there is anything that they can do in assisting the recovery of your account.

    Thanks,

I managed to access the account now using my username rather than my email. So have managed to remove it from ‘live’, and changed my email on the account.

    Thanks for your help.
