Hi, are you able to log in as ilrugbista, or do you have access to the email address you used to create that account?

If you have access to the email address used to create the account, there are a couple of things you can try:
- Login with the email address instead of the username
- Use the email address to reset your password
Please let me know if you can’t remember the email address.

That is not the email address associated with that account. Are you trying your other email addresses?

I had a blog http://ilrugbista.wordpress.com/ and I entered in with (email visible only to moderators and staff)
I had an account with this e mail that is not ilrugbista191217 (this is now a new account). I don’t remember the old account’s name now but it’s somethigh like capitan harlock. Last month I’ve tried to enter in the old account to enter in my blog http://ilrugbista.wordpress.com/ but I cannot enter in. I need to enter in the blog with my old account. The blog is an italian poetry blog.
Please help me. -

iilrugbista.wordpress.com is full of my poems (in italian) and I need to enter inside again. If I try to use your procedure I log in just as ilrugbista191217 account wich is not the account of ilrugbista.wordpress.com. So I cannot change the password of the real account. If you want have proves I’m the owner of ilrugbista.wordpress.com I can write you some poems’s title or something else you need. Thanks -

I’ve registred my ilrugbista.wordpress.com more than 5 years ago? How can I still have a transaction ID or an activation URL or key? It’s impossible to have it. So please find another way to give me back the keys to enter in my blog ilrugbista.wordpress.com. Please!

I appreciate you want to recover the site but we can only help you do this, if you can provide the account recovery information listed in the form. You could check with your bank to see if they can supply you with a statement containing the transaction ID.

In Italy and EU banks are obliged to save transaction ID just for 5 years. So It’s impossible to have it. WordPress should consider the different national law and have more general ways to recover password. So what can we do now?

Transaction IDs appear in the email receipt we send you when you purchase an upgrade. It is your responsibility to keep such records safe.
However, the ilrugbista account has never purchased any upgrades from us, so there are no transaction IDs you can use to verify ownership of that account, as there were never any transactions related to that account.
The activation URL has nothing to do with your bank. We also sent that to you via email, with the instruction to keep that safe for exactly this purpose. If you chose to ignore those instructions and delete the activation email, that is not our responsibility, and there is nothing more we can do.
We have strict account recovery protocols in place to prevent unauthorised access to WordPress.com accounts, and if you are not able to provide any of the required information to verify your ownership, we cannot give you access to that account.

I can give a lot of other information that can prove my owenership of this account. Sure is my responsability to keep records safe, but is not unusual to lost them because of SW problems. So your recovery protocols should consider this usual problem which the account owners have often. Please help me.

No other information you can provide, for example photo ID, can prove your ownership, as it’s not information you provided to us when you created the account so we have nothing to verify it against.
The information we require for verification is unique, that can only possibly be associated with a single WordPress.com account. Anything else, like content you added to the site, is not necessarily unique, and cannot be used for verification.
We do not make exceptions in this regard, so if you no longer have any of the required information we cannot help you.

It is not the one you mentioned, and for privacy reasons we cannot tell you what the address is. But if you can remember what address you used and regain access to that, you’ll be able to log into the site again.
